Take Me Out to the Ball Game

We took the boys to the first Rangers game of the season on Friday.  This was Mark's first baseball game and he loved every minute of it.  Michael enjoyed it too, but it was not Matthew's cup of tea.

I had such a great time watching Mark get excited about everything from the food to the wave.  He was cheering, singing along to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", dancing and just loved everything about baseball.

Driving to the ballpark!

Mark had chicken for dinner.

Showing me his tongue-roll talent.

Watching the players warm up.

It was Carroll ISD Night so we got these cool green Rangers ball caps.  Mark wore his most of the night because he loved everything about the baseball game!

Pizza at the game!
The Rangers won over the Angels which was icing on the cake!

Art in the Square, Birthday Party and Swim

This weekend was the annual Art in the Square weekend and the weather was perfect for it.  Michael had to go for an art class project so we decided to go on Friday evening because there would be less of a crowd. I would love to say that it was awesome, but the two older ones had such attitude that we weren't there for very long.

He had fun even the other boys were being poor sports.

Waiting for his balloon animal.  he requested a tiger and while the guy was making it, he covered his ears in case the balloon popped.

Then we went to decorate some cupcakes.

The oldest did not want pictures taken.

We left and went to dinner.

Mark relaxing with a good book in Matthew's room at the end of the day.  They don't like to wear shirts at night

On Saturday, I took Mark to a birthday party in the morning.  He was loving it.

When we got home, we had lunch outside and I let them swim.  First swim of the year.  It was still very cold but the kids didn't care.

H loves wearing his goggles.

He got cold in the water and wanted to warm up in the sun.

This is probably the only decent picture of Michael the whole weekend.

We spent the entire Saturday outside because it was so nice.  Soaking it up before the scorching summer forces us inside.

Odyssey of the Mind State 2016 - Houston

We took a little trip to Houston with Matthew last weekend for his Odyssey of the Mind State competition.  His team did great and improved so much from Regionals competition.  Unfortunately, they placed fourth and did not make it to Worlds. I was heartbroken for the  kiddos because they worked SO hard and put so much time and effort into preparing for the past 8 months.

It was a great experience though and I enjoyed spending one-on-one time with my middle.  We left Michael and Mark with the grandparents so Matthew had me and M all to himself. It's nice to have some time to focus on just him and I think he enjoyed the attention as well. It was a lot of fun.

On Friday, after I dropped Mark and Michael off at school, Matthew and I got in the car and started our road trip. We were headed off to George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston to pick up M who was flying in from a work trip and drive the rest of the way to our hotel in downtown Houston.

We made a pitstop at McDonald's in Fairfield for lunch.

After we got to our hotel and were settled in, we walked across the street to the Houston Galleria and had an early dinner at Kona Grill. The weather was perfect for outside dining!

We had some yummy rolls and this guy had TWO orders of sashimi and some rolls. Sake sashimi is one of his favorite things to eat.

After dinner, Michael dropped me off at the competition site so I can help set up and then drove Matthew to meet up with his teammates for a team meeting.  Then we headed back to our hotel to relax for the night.

We woke up bright and early and drove to the high school where the competition was being held and M helped unload our props.

Prepping for the show in the staging area....

Waiting on the judge to say "Go!"

And show time!!

M got roped into helping sell t-shirts after the kids performed.  He helped sell $4 worth of T-shirts.

That evening, we drove over to a stadium for the awards ceremony.  We were disappointed that the kids didn't advance but I couldn't be more of this boy.  He worked so hard and put so much time into this. Not one time did he complain about going to OOTM practice. Love him so much.

After the award ceremony we went back to the hotel and settled in for the night. This boy hijacked my robe the whole trip.

We go up early the next morning and drove home.  Then Houston got flooded. Yikes, good thing we left early.

Fieldtrip and Weekend

Mark had a class field trip last Tuesday and he had a blast sliding down the the inflatables.  He was with Olivia most of the time because they are best friends.  I heard her ask him if he wanted to follow her everywhere and he said yes because she's his best friend.

Daddy came by to visit when it was time for lunch.

They got to color for a little bit after lunch.  He loved coloring with Quinn. They did such a good job helping each other with finding colors and sharing.

Then it was time to celebrate Mrs. Poole's and Mrs. Miller's half birthday with cupcakes!

They kids were so excited to see Mrs. Poole open her presents.

Mark loves blowing kisses.  This was when they had to get on the school bus to go back to school.  Jose wanted to join in on the fun.

It's the time of year when we can actually spend some time outside before it gets too hot and we are squeezing every minute we can.  We spent most of the time on our patio on Saturday and Sunday.

Hanging out on the patio.

He loves to wear goggles even when he's not swimming.

He was delighted to find out that the wheel on the table still works

I had to post this because it's so cute.  He loves lemons. When I buy lemons, I get extras for him because he alway wants one.  He doesn't really play with them, but just holds onto them just like this.
