What's Up Wednesday

We have a fun little link-up with Mix and Match Family, Pinterest Told Me To and The Larson Lingo today for What's Up Wednesday. I'm sure you'll find my life fascinating - if laundry and running errands fascinates to you ;-)

What We’re Eating
We’ve been eating simply this week.  M is out of town for most of the week so the kids and I have been eating random things. I made pizza Monday night and last night was mac and cheese for Michael and Mark and potstickers for Matthew.  Yes, I sometimes make them different meals because they are super, super picky eaters – don’t judge.

 What I’m Reminiscing About
Last Saturday, we went to a going away get-together for one of M’s old co-worker who is a lot younger than we are.  He and his wife are newly weds and they are moving to San Francisco.  So now I’m reminiscing about when M and I first started out together as a married couple.  It’s been an awesome journey to where we are now and we’ve accomplished so much!

What I’m Loving
I am loving all the wet weather and thunderstorms that we’ve had last week.   Coming from California, we rarely have thunderstorms and I guess it still hasn’t lost its newness even though we’ve been in Texas for 6 years.  I love to patter around the house all warm and cozy while it’s wet and stormy outside.

What We’ve Been Up to
Not much this week.  We had a beautiful weekend so we went to an outdoor festival on Saturday.  Other than that?  Grocery shopping, errands, play dates, and keeping up with the household chores…

What I’m Dreading
I am happy to report that I don’t dread anything this week J

What I’m Working
I’m working on the 4th grade “Clap-Out” shirts.  A little background - our elementary school here is grades K-4.  At the end of the school year, 4th graders get to walk through the school hallway where teachers/staff/administrators and parents line up to “clap” them out to celebrate them moving up from elementary school to intermediate school. It was super emotional for me when Michael went through it and I’m sure it will be the same with Matthew this year.

So anyway, I’m working on designing and ordering the T-shirts for the 4th grade class.

What I’m Excited About
Going on the 6th grade field trip to Six Flags with this boy and his classmates as a chaperone on Friday!

What I’m Watching/Reading
I’m reading Girl on the Train.  I just finished Gone Girl and now I am interested to see how they turned it into the movie so I’ll probably be watching that this week.

What I’m Listening To
Whatever is on in the car radio, but my favorite songs right now are Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” and Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me.” I know, deep stuff….

What I’m Wearing
I have been living in my gym clothes.  I’ve been working out at least 6 days a week (yay, me!) and with the raining weather, it’s been a challenge get out of my comfy lululemons...

What I’m Doing This Weekend
Soccer! Soccer! Soccer!  Michael has a soccer tournament this weekend so that it where we will be.  So thankful for the predicted nice weather.  We will be enjoying it outside.

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

Michael’s Spring band concert, Matthew’s 4th grade musical and whatever else pops up!

Have a great rest of the week!

Art in the Square

It has been raining off and one for the past few weeks, but last weekend was beautiful and full of sunshine.  Thank goodness because we had plans!  We went to Art in the Square. Michael was a wet blanket and did not want to go, but it was forced family fun day so he didn't have a choice.  And he did have fun once he decided to stop being a stick in the mud and started doing the activities.

This is how Mark likes to travel.

Mark loved this trampoline contraption.  The sweet girl attending to him helped him bounce pretty high and he squealed the whole time.

This is Matthew getting strapped in to go down the zipline. He climbed the stairs up to the top of the zipline and promptly ran back down.  But with a little encouragement, he went back up and did it!  I was so proud of him for doing it even when he was really scared.  I think he was proud of himself too.  Love this boy.

Then he did the trampoline thing too.  He doesn't look like he's having fun, but he really did. He even did some flips.  And he looked really graceful doing them.

Then it was Michael's turn - my little daredevil.

He was flipping and flopping around on this thing.

Mark was not impressed :-)

But he was impressed with his corndog - he ate the whole thing.

This is his new thing when we take pictures.  He thinks it's hilarious.  Me? Not so much.

Love these little monsters.

We had a good time! Can't wait to do another forced family fun day....

A Post About Nothing....

We did not do much this weekend. Michael was suppose to have a soccer game on Sunday but with the storm Saturday night, it was cancelled.  So there's really not much to write about, but I wanted to post some pictures.

Last Tuesday, we went to get the boys' passports done.  I can't believe how much they are charging for these little things! Anyway, we went to our local post office and the boys were pretty patient waiting on us.

We had to turn in their old passports, but I'm hoping to get them back.

On Friday, Michael gave us a couple of hours notice that he is performing at the Celebration of the Arts at his school so we had to basically drop everything and there.

Mark and Matthew were looking to find their big brother.  Mark kept yelling out to Michael.  "Hi, bo-bo! I love you bo-bo!"  Michael was a little embarrassed, but I think he liked it. So stinkin' cute.

My little trumpet player...

Waiting to perform. I can't believe how good these kids have become after just a few months.  They were pretty impressive.

Just a random picture here.  I caught these two holding hands while watching a soccer match on TV.  I heart them.

We went to a playdate yesterday at Central Market.  We are always at Central Market! I caught Mark playing with this little cutie.

After our playdate, we went to lunch with Daddy and had a burger.  He's being a silly boy for this picture.

And I couldn't get him to not stick his tongue out for any other pictures.  He thinks he's so funny!

Friday Favorites

I thought I'd link up to Erika at A Little Bit of Everything blog for her weekly Friday Favorites.  This is a total random list.

One
These little breakfast to go baggies.  Mark calls them "pouches" and they are great for early morning errands or gym classes when we have to be out of the house by 8 in the morning.  I stick it in the microwave for 30 seconds and Mark has his breakfast on the way to where we need to be.  Mark HAS TO have breakfast or else he's a bear the rest of the day.

Two
Making our own pizza.  Since Trader Joe's opened up in our town, we have been making lots of fresh pizza.  I get the their fresh pizza dough, roll it it out, top it with whatever strikes us, stick it in the oven for 25 minutes and dinner or lunch is served!  The best part is that everyone can have their own toppings.

I like pesto, honey goat cheese, tomatoes, prosciutto and fresh arugula on mine.

Three
My favorite time of the day is right after my two older boys get on the bus to go to school and before my #3 wakes up.  Love my boys, but I also love the 30 minutes of quiet time in the morning to drink my coffee and surf the Internet.

Four
Sandal season is here and this is what I will be wearing most of the time from now until it gets cooler in October.  These are my favorite pair.  They go with everything, are cute and so comfy...

Five
And speaking of sandal season, I can't go until I share one of my favorite nail color for my toes.  I usually go bright with my toes and neutral on my fingers. You will see this color on my toes a lot. It's called Seniorita Rosealita, one of my faves.

Soccer and Other Stuff

We had another nice weekend.  M watched the Masters for most of it, but we did get out a little.

Friday evening, I went to the gym to take a Pilates class and was confronted with this mess -
apparently there was a "celebrity" Pilates instructor from U-tube teaching and she was big deal.  I've never heard of her but she has books, a clothing line and has created a new Pilates format called POP Pilates.  The class was intense and would have been great had it not been for the crowd. Seriously, 200 hundred people jammed into a basketball court.

Michael had a soccer game Saturday morning so we got up bright and early. His team won 3-1 and we celebrated by going to lunch.  The rest of the weekend was pretty standard. The boys played with friends-I hardly even saw them this weekend because they were at their friends' houses all day.

A quick selfie on our way to the fields. Michael did not want to participate.

Some lunch time silliness....

I love these boys

On Sunday, Mark and I headed to the gym and then I went to see Cinderella with a friend and her daughter, Nichole.  It was so good. The costumes were so beautiful and I loved the music. Nichole was so sweet and wrote me a "Thank You" note for going to the movies with her.  She's one of my favorite girls ;-).

After the movies, I drove to pick up our dinner at Babe's Chicken Dinner House.  SO good.

I went to the gym early Monday morning.  I usually take Mark with me because he loves going to "Kids' Klub," but he was still asleep so I went on my own.  Good thing too because when I left the gym, there was a torrential downpour!  I was soaked running from the gym my car.  I don't mind that it's going to rain the rest of the week because it's making our neighborhood so pretty!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!  I'm happy to report that we found the owner of the dog we found wandering our street last Sunday.  M put up a poster at the entrance to our neighborhood and the dog's owner saw it on Monday and called us.  So happy that he found his people, but happier that we don't have to keep him.  He was so sweet but I have never wanted a pet and I still don't.  Too much work!

We have had some crazy weather this week.  Sunshine and beautiful one day and thunderstorms the next, but that's North TX for you.

On Monday, I took Michael to his well check-up.  He is super healthy, weighing in at 78 lbs. and is now 4'9.  Another foot, and he'll be taller than me.

He also had to get a couple of shots.  Poor baby.  He did well though, and he got a kick out of the nurse telling him that she's seen 16-year olds who cry when they got shots.  I dropped him off at school after his appointment but not before he convinced me to pick him up some lunch at McDonald's.  Way to stay healthy :-)

Tuesday was one of those beautiful days.  Mark and I had to get our day started early because I had to drop our car off at the dealership to get it looked at - check oil level came on.  It was such a pretty morning so we took advantage and went to have breakfast at Central Market afterwards. Mark got to play a little bit.

Then it was time to meet up with some friends at Casey's Clubhouse for a playdate.

He's telling me "no pictures" here...

I had Spirit Shop on Wednesday so Mark had his weekly visit with the Gs.  He has so much fun there.

On Thursday, we decided to go have lunch with Matthew.  What really happened was we ran out of bread so I couldn't make his lunch.  Oh well. I'm just happy that he's still happy to see me at school. Michael will no longer let me eat lunch with him.  Heartbreaking....
