Weekend Recap

Honestly, all my weekend posts are pretty much the same with little changes is the details.  And honestly-I think it’s AWESOME!  It means that I’m not having to write about a catastrophe (well, my house is sometimes a catastrophe) or major drama, and I like it that way. This means that life is constant and good and calm (comparatively). So let’s get to it!

Both boys had a soccer game this week.  Both did not score, but both teams won and both boys played well. The games were pretty one-side and I don’t remember the score because we were winning by so many points. The weather was cooperative even though it was a little windy for my liking.

Both boys had birthday parties to go to this weekend – Matthew went to Ryan’s party at Urban Air and Michael went to Jacob’s party at Velocity.  Michael had so much fun at Velocity that he’s already planning to have his next birthday party there!

M did some yard work-the hedges in our driveway needed to be cut back so badly.  He couldn’t get to the hedges in the front of the house because his trimmer ran out of battery so he’s just going to have to finish next weekend!

I didn’t take any picture this weekend.  M texted me this when I was out running errands-apparently, little man fell asleep while playing.  I thinks it’s precious that he took my shirt from the back of my desk chair and laid on it.  My little monkey!

Can you believe April is almost over?! I noticed this morning that it’s not dark anymore when I wake up. The boys have 6 more weeks of school left – Michael’s last 6 weeks at the elementary school.  After this year, he and Matthew will never be in the same school again unless we move out of the district.

Another Beautiful Weekend!

What a perfect weekend!  We had the perfect Spring weather after the cold spell earlier in the week.  Matthew had a Friday night soccer game and another game Saturday afternoon.  Michael had a game Saturday evening.  Both my boys played awesome.  Matthew scored 2 goals Friday night win and 1 goal Saturday lost.  Most importantly, he played like he wanted to be there.  He was aggressive, ran hard and fought for the ball.

Michael scored a goal at his game and his team tied, but he played so well too! And the weather was perfect to be outside.

Sunday was a free day for us.  No games, nothing scheduled so we went to the creek for a quick picnic of fruit and crackers and the boys played on the playground.  Then they got out of hand with the wrestling and rolling around on the ground so we went home.

Oh, I had to help M take down some wasp nests on the very top roofline of our house.  He said it would be easy and take less than 20 minutes-he lied.  It was not easy and it took more than 20 minutes.  However, I’m glad that we got it done.

This Week

1. Matthew has not had a soccer game in 3 weeks – rescheduled due to rain or wet fields.  At this rate, his soccer season will last through the summer.  Oh well.

2.Michael had his game Saturday night and his team won 2-5.  Go Solar!  We went to Spring Creek Barbeque for dinner and it was good.  Love the rolls-hot and buttery goodness.

3. M and I took Michael and his buddy Daniel to the Rangers game Sunday night.  They played the LA Angels and won 7-3.  We got to see lots of homerun hits (3 from Rangers’ player, not sure if Angels’ player had any).
We had yummy food and Michael ate lots of shrimps.  Yes, it was a school night, but we thought it would be OK to be irresponsible and make it a special night for Michael.  Matthew decided not to go because he “would be bored out of my mind.”  Exact words.  I kid you not. He stayed home with Mark and Sarah.

4. This week has gone by pretty quickly.  M is starting to travel for work again. So...scheduling is like putting puzzle pieces together.

5. Yesterday morning, after the kids got on the bus to go to school, I signed, and said our neighbor (who was there to see his kiddos off to school as well), “Another day,” like I was dreading it. In fact, I was dreading having to make my long commute to work.  And he said “yes, another BEAUTIFUL day.”  It took me off guard, but he was right.  It IS another beautiful day and I’m lucky to be able to say that. I was too busy focusing on all the “stuff” that I need to get done instead of rejoicing in the all beautiful moments that the day will bring.

What We Did Easter Weekend

March 26

We celebrated Michael's birthday with a bundt cake and presents.  He got a bicycle from us and enjoyed riding it all weekend long!

March 29

We helped Mommy water the plant- sort of.  The watering can is empty, but he enjoyed himself anyway!

We climbed the wall.

We looked cute.

We went walking/scootering along the lake on a beautiful day!

 Scootering down the hill...

We hung out with Dad.
 Easter Sunday

We hunted for confetti eggs in our backyard.  Daddy his our eggs - yellow eggs for Mark, purple eggs for Matthew, and pink eggs for Michael.  We could only find eggs that were our colors!  Matthew found all his eggs first.

We were not happy about something.

We crushed the eggs and sprinkled confetti on each other!

And ourselves...

My little cutie.

We played on our swings.

We went to the creek and played with our friends.

We played with the chicks and bunnies.

What a great weekend!
