Week 24 (16 More to Go!)

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 24 weeks

Size of baby: 11- 12 inches and weighs 1 ½ lbs (Babyzone.com). He is the about the length of an ear of corn (Babycenter.com)

Weight gain: As of this morning, I’m a little over 140. OK, I’m at 143. Last time I got weighed at the Dr.’s office was 138 – up 5 lbs., 18 lbs. since I’ve been pregnant.

Maternity Clothes: I’m still wearing non-pregnancy dresses, but cannot fit into regular jeans anymore. Most shirts are non-pregnancy shirts are getting too short. I will need to get more pregnancy jeans/pants soon.

Gender: Baby Boy we found out at 18 weeks – Mark Austin Fisher.

Movement: Mark is active in the early afternoon and in the morning when I wake up at around 6:30am. He is moving more frequently, and a couple of his kicks this week have startled me because of the strength of it. I’ve decided that he like the sound of M’s voice because most of the time when M is talking Mark is moving around!

Sleep: Still sleeping OK this week except for last night. I had to get up more than usual to go the bathroom. Boo.

Symptoms: Backache is getting more frequent and has become more of an issue especially before be. I’m still hold back from taking anything, but may have to start if it keeps me from falling asleep. I can feel some cramping and round ligament pains early morning and at night.

I just feel a lot heavier, especially when I'm climbing stairs.
What I miss: This week, I miss being able to have a glass of wine. There’s an open bottle of Chardonnay in the refrigerator that I used for cooking that is teasing me every time I open the fridge door.

Cravings: Anything with lots of sugar

Best Moment this week: Discovering that Mark likes M’s voice

What I am looking forward to: Seeing my other 2 babies on Tuesday! I can’t wait for them to come home…

Random

I did nothing this weekend and I am not ashamed. The boys took another trip to the beach and went to a local carnival. And today, my brother took the day off to take them to Bonfante Gardens. It’s no wonder they don’t want to come home.
I had “facetime” with them yesterday and it’s probably my imagination, but I think they’ve gotten older just in the past couple of weeks. Say it ain’t so!

They both got haircuts. Michael’s turned out pretty good, but Matty didn’t make out so well. You be the judge.

Hamdsome little man.

Missing My Boys

I’m missing my little ones today.  I find myself going through my phone and just looking at their pictures and looking forward to give them lots of hugs and kisses.  I know they are having fun and are being well cared for so that helps lot. It especially helps to know that they are not homesick.  In fact, they are too busy having fun to talk to me when I call them.  I’m so glad they are so independent.

23 Weeks

OK. I’m going to try something new here. I was trolling different blogs and came across a blog written by another pregnant woman with pregnancy highlights. It’s kind of what I’ve been doing here on a (somewhat) weekly basis but in a more organized manner. Anyway, I thought I’d give it a try.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 23 weeks
Size of baby: 11 inches and weighs as much as a large mango (Babycenter.com)

Weight gain: ??? Last time I got weighed at the Dr.’s office was 138 – weight gain of 13lbs. since I’ve been pregnant.

Maternity Clothes: I’m still wearing non-pregnancy dresses, but cannot fit into regular jeans anymore.

Gender: Baby Boy we found out at 18 weeks – Mark Austin Fisher is our final name choice. We just decided on the middle name last this past Monday.

Movement: I can definitely feel him move, especially during mid-afternoon. There are long moments where I don’t feel anything and get nervous, but I’m still feeling movement several times out of the day. I can sometimes see the movements in my belly! So exciting…

Sleep: Still sleeping OK. I haven’t been getting up to go the bathroom as much as a use to. Only once or twice a night compare to 4-5 times about a month ago. Monday night was the first night that I actually had to take some Tylenol to fall asleep because I had a really bad backache.

Symptoms: Backache is getting more frequent. I can feel some cramping and round ligament pains early morning and at night. Sugar craving! I’ve been wanting to eat so much sweets.

What I miss: Sometimes I miss my pre-pregnancy body  Not complaining, but it would be nice to be able to feel good in a bikini.

Cravings: Anything with lots of sugar

Best Moment this week: Deciding on Mark’s middle name together with the hubby!

What I am looking forward to: Feeling stronger and more frequent movements and getting our new glider and ottoman.

Week 23 (17 more to go!)

22 Weeks

It sounds like the boys are having fun in CA. They are going to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk today with me sister and Dad. I’ve missed them a ton, but at the same time, it’s been nice to have a little break. No worries about what to feed them which is always a huge source of stress for me. It’s also been nice to stop by my favorite stores after work knowing that I don’t have to hurry home and make dinner.

I got to see Mark again at my monthly Dr.’s appointment. Everything looks great. His heartbeat is 143 bpm and very strong. Everything is developing and working as it should. He’s got fluid in this stomach meaning that his kidneys are working and he’s swallowing like he should be.

I forgot to ask the size again because I was so mesmerized by seeing my little nugget. At one point during the ultrasound, we say him stick his little thumb in his mouth. So cute! It was also cool to see him move on the screen and feel that movement in my tummy.

We have not done much to the nursery since we bought the bedding. We’ve just been storing the baby stuff we’ve collected in there right now. I’m waiting for the glider and ottoman set that M’s dad and Jennie gifted us with to be delivered to set up the room. That’s our last major piece.

We have four month left to prepare. I’m officially at week 22, but it doesn’t feel like I’ve been pregnant for 5 months. This morning, I finally decided to take a belly shot. Not a great picture because I took it myself, but I want to make sure I have some pictures to show Mark of when he was in mommy’s tummy. Hopefully, M will agree to take some for me as we get closer.

Goodbye to My Babies

So my boys are in CA for 3 whole weeks! I miss them so much, but am happy that they will get to hang out with their Poh-Poh and Gong, Gong for 3 whole weeks. They are going to be so spoiled. I’ve been dreading this day for awhile, and was so sad this morning when they left for the airport. Everyone keeps telling me how nice it is for me to have some time to myself. I guess that’s true, especially with little Mark. I get tired and my temper is shorter nowadays, but I’m so scared of feeling lonely at night without them with me.

I think I’m going to dust off the scrapbooking equipment and start on this long forgotten project again. This will keep me occupied. Three weeks is not such a long time. They’ll be home before I know it and then we are on our way to St. Thomas. I’m so excited for that trip.

I packed our weekend up last weekend because I wanted to enjoy as much time as I can with my boys before they left. Unfortunately, it totally wore me out, but it was worth it. We went to see Cars 2 on Saturday and on Sunday we spent the whole day at the Legoland Discovery Center. I didn’t think too much of the place, but the y boys had a blast and so I let them hang out for as long as they wanted. Of course, we waited for an hour and a half to get it and spent $60 in admissions, so I wanted to get as much out of the outing as possible. Their favorite part was building racecars out of Legos and racing it with other children. Michael’s racecar consisted of 2 big wheels and an axle. He won 10 races with that “car.” He was so proud.

We celebrated the 4th of July Sunday night by going over to G-pa’s and J’s house to watch the fireworks. We thought we could see it from their balcony, but we couldn’t. Fortunately for M, we were able to see from their front lawn. It would not have been a good night for him if we had missed it.

On Monday, we went over to some friends’ house and the kids had a fabulous time swimming, running around, and playing. They were exhausted after and they both fell asleep on the ride home. Very rare for my Michael.
